Nieces’ Corner
It’s Mothers’ Day, early, and granddaughters want to come over. The 7-year-old walks in, lugging a 9X13″ pan full of her newest recipe and a jar of homemade bath salts in Grandma’s favorite color.

Favorite Apple Crumble
Ingredients
7 TBSP butter, in cubes
2 pounds Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
½ cup brown sugar
2 TBSP apple or lemon juice
¾ cup flour
1½ cup rolled oats, granola, or mixture
¼ cup mixed seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
Preheat over to 350° F.
Melt 2 TBSP butter, stir in apples, juice, and half the sugar.
Cook 5 – 6 minutes, covered. Spoon into oven dish.
Place flour in a bowl and rub in the remaining butter with your fingertips until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
Stir in oats or granola, sugar, seeds, and cinnamon. Spoon over apples.
Bake 30 – 40 minutes at 350° F, until the topping is golden.
Let cool and eat away!
Whipped cream is necessary.
